I’m in the mood for a good revenge song at the moment:
Aye carumba! What a crappy week I’ve had. To add more stress to my world, the little dog we’re babysitting for a friend escaped today and was MIA until the neighbour told me that two little girls from up the road had her. As we got home from work too late for dog claiming from strangers of unknown address, little dog will be spending the night there, no doubt being loved to pieces by 8 year old girls. Apparently they tried to knock on our door about 4pm, but we were still at work. Hopefully they’ll try again first thing tomorrow so that I don’t have to trawl the neighbourhood. In the meantime I’m worrrying about little dog and hoping that all will work out for the best. You can see why I never babysit for people.
Normally I work in suburbia, but I had to go to our city office today, which involves catching the train in. What is with people and their mobile phones? They clutch them in their hands, and check them every 10 minutes in case there’s a message (oh, sorry, “msg”) or something or other. All the gadgets and crap people play with on the train now, it’s all such a load of bollocks. Yes, I do have an old i-pod shuffle (which was a hand-me-down from a friend) but I don’t feel the need to fiddle constantly with all my gizmos on public transport. This is just me being curmudgeonly, I know.
But I just commented to Mr. Gertie that the universe is conspiring to give me the shits this week, so I am feeling a bit intolerant. Grr.
Oh, and the knitting? The other week I picked up some yummy wool on sale from K-mart, and I decided it needed to be a knee rug, for curling up under on the sofa. So I’m keeping my sanity by knitting basic stocking stitch squares for said blanket. Knit one row, pearl one row, cup of tea.
Last year I was in a swap and sent some handmade things and little pressies to a Flickr friend. Last week I unexpectedly got this thank you card and gorgeous handprinted card in the mail. Thank you so much, when you’re down it’s really lovely to get something like this.
A very dear friend wrote this to me this morning:
my friend! my friend! my friend!
shame on people for turning against you! you have to take care of yourself and screw the stupid people. luckily there are people out here in the world who understand and we nudge and stuff because we care. don’t leave flickr and blogging…wheedle back and stick with the people who do know you and care. you know that when the bad place happens what we need most is routine, consistency and something creative to do. if you don’t have something to look forward to then the bad gets worse. pick a day for NO blogging, just crafting you and tea and sweets and maybe a good chickie flick and a nap. do it once every week. screw the stupid people okee doke?
Take care of yourself and your guy. be good to each other!
Thank God for good friends.
I love my sis Edna, she’s one of the goods one.

Welcome podners! Here’s another bloggy thing. I’ll try and keep it crafty and happy, but I make no promises.
